The project
Turning agricultural waste gases into a useful resource such as biogas is a good way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. BiogasETC (Energising the Countryside) intends to make this economically viable at remote locations and for small-scale producers. In the long-run Biogas ETC aims to accelerate Europe’s transition towards a decentralized supply of sustainable energy.

The biogas upgrading plant under development should contribute to a system that produces a renewable fuel at the price of presently available fuels, without tax benefits. This new technology is especially interesting for dairy farmers, because they have manure, but almost no heat demand. They do have a relatively high demand of transportation fuel.
